MSAL authentication code login failed.

I am trying to open a Synapse notebook from VSCode; When I do so, VSCode requests me to sign in using my MS Fabric username and password. As soon as I do that, I get "MSAL authentication code login failed." in VSCode from Synapse VS Code (extention).

I am running on MacOS. Has anyone faced this issue?

Thanks

Hi @sartin
Thanks for using Fabric Community.
"MSAL authentication code login failed" error indicates that the Synapse VS Code extension encountered a problem acquiring a token from the Microsoft identity platform using MSAL. This could be due to various reasons like incorrect credentials, network issues, or configuration problems.

Troubleshooting Steps:
1) Clear cache and user data and retry to login.

2) Uninstall and reinstall the Synapse VS Code extension. Please install the prerequisites also.

If the issue still persists, this might require a deeper investigation from our engineering team and they can guide you better. Please go ahead and raise a support ticket to reach our support team:

https://support.fabric.microsoft.com/support
Please provide the ticket number here as we can keep an eye on it.

Hope this helps. Please let me know incase of further queries.
