you need to set up an On Premises data gateway on the server hosting the file :

Post that while creating the connection, you can have the gateway drop down

I get the whoami to get the username for the domain\alias and I always got the credentials issue.

Hi @tan_thiamhuat,

Please make sure you are entering your credentials in the correct format. For Microsoft Entra accounts,
user@domain.com

Check that your password is accurate and that your account is not expired or locked.

If you continue to experience issues, try installing the gateway on a different machine to eliminate possible local configuration or permission problems.

Please uninstall the current gateway from your system, then clear the temporary files by deleting everything in the temp folder. Once that's done, download and install the latest version of the on-premises data gateway from the official Microsoft link.
