Do I Need DP-700 After Earning DP-600 Before 15/11/2024?

Hi everyone,

I earned the DP-600 certification before 15/11/2024, before the recent changes were implemented. Given these updates, do I also need to obtain the DP-700 certification, or is my DP-600 still sufficient?

Would appreciate any insights from those familiar with the new requirements.

Before the November 15, 2024, update, DP-600 covered both analytics and data engineering aspects within Microsoft Fabric. Some topics, especially related to data ingestion, transformation, and engineering (e.g., PySpark), were later moved to DP-700 to create a more specialized certification path (data-mozart.com, kevinrchant.com).

That's why I am asking this question.

DP 600 still remains the same wherein it covers the entire fundamentals and concepts of fabric as a whole that includes data eng, data analytics, data factory, data science. 

Whereas DP 700 is a role based certification focused more on end to end data engineering within Fabric.

DP 600 and DP 700 are both different exams.
DP 700 covers the entire fabric ecosystem whereas DP700 is focused on the Data Engineering aspect of Fabric.

So can you please clarify what you mean by recent changes?
