DP700 Exam Passing Issue

Dear All,

I have been preparing for DP700 exam for last 5 months. I did a courese from youtube and then learned everything from microsoft learn but couldnot pass the course althought I have been using Fabric notebooks for python coding.

Also I paid for the first certification paid but cant pay again for another attempt. Can anybody guide me how to get free voucher for DP700 exam? your guidance will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

One additional advice I want to share is to take a lot of practice tests. There is one by Microsoft but there are several others out there too. I have seen that while studying using YouTube and Microsoft learn gives a lot of knowledge, the practice tests give a close to exam experience and give you more confidence.

Udemy has a few that were useful. But check if those are kept updated as MS keeps updating the syllabus every few months.

I have attempted twice and spend my $100. Do you think I should attempt it 3rd time? is it really valuable certificaiton and can add significantly add value in my profile?

DP-700 is currently one of the only two certs available for Fabric. So I would say it would definitely add value, especially as more firms are starting to use Fabric. That said, if you have a lot of experience with Fabric already, that can substitute your lack of certification (if I were hiring).

I would say take time for your third time and practice a lot. As per others' suggestions, free coupons can come up (there was one during Fabric Data Days in Nov, Dec). Also, keep an eye on the Microsoft Learn page, as they will announce when they change the syllabus (add/remove modules) will happen

There are several legitimate ways to obtain a discount or free voucher for the DP‑700: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer certification:

• Microsoft Fabric Community offers
  Microsoft periodically runs Fabric Community campaigns that provide 50% or 100% discount vouchers for DP‑700. These typically require joining the Fabric Community, having a Microsoft Learn profile, and completing a Fabric learning plan, attending a “Get Certified: DP‑700” session, or holding DP‑203. Vouchers are limited and distributed via Fabric Community private messages. 
• Microsoft Partner (MAICPP) offers – 100% free
  Employees of Microsoft Partner organisations can often request a fully free DP‑700 voucher by joining the Fabric Partner Community (Teams) and submitting the official request form using a partner email address. This is one of the most reliable routes if applicable. 
• Fabric Data Days / Get Fabric Certified programs
  Microsoft occasionally runs Fabric Data Days or “Get Fabric Certified” initiatives where completing required Learn modules and attending sessions allows you to request a 100% discount voucher. These are strictly time‑bound and voucher‑limited. 
• Cloud Skills Challenge / Virtual Training Days (occasional)
  In some cycles, DP‑700 is included in Microsoft Learn challenges or Virtual Training Days. Completing standard Learn modules alone does not automatically grant a voucher unless explicitly stated as part of an offer. 

Recommended approach:
Monitor the Microsoft Fabric Community regularly, act quickly when voucher request forms open, and use the Partner route if eligible.
