I’ve been going through the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse tutorial to test and practice data ingestion into a lakehouse. However, the sample dataset link provided in the tutorial appears to be broken:
https://assetsprod.microsoft.com/en-us/wwi-sample-dataset.zip
This link is referenced directly in the official Microsoft Fabric documentation:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-engineering/tutorial-lakehouse-data-ingestion
Could you please confirm if the dataset has been moved to a new location or if there’s an updated link available?

Hi @justinepadayao,
Thank you for highlighting this. We attempted to access the dataset link directly. The request not trigger any download and instead returns a browser error indicating that the resource cannot be found. This confirms the link is currently broken.
We have cross-checked the official Microsoft Learn Lakehouse tutorial, and it still references the same URL, may be which means the documentation has not yet been updated with a replacement.
At this time, Microsoft has not published a new location for the WWI sample dataset. As a workaround, you can:
Use the built-in sample datasets available within the Copy Data assistant (e.g., Public Holidays).
Upload your own test data through File upload, Dataflows, Pipelines, or Notebooks to continue practicing ingestion.
We recommend also submitting feedback directly on the documentation page so the product team can prioritize updating the reference.
In the meantime, the above alternatives should allow you to complete the tutorial successfully.
Thank you.

Thank you for being a valued member of the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum!
I confirm that I have the same issue on the data source : it has been removed.
Consider using other sample datasets or sourcing it manually.
Best regards,
Antoine
