"How to Sort Month Names Chronologically in a Slicer?"

"Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble getting my MonthName slicer to sort in the correct chronological order (January to December) instead of alphabetically. I've created a MonthName column using FORMAT([Date], "MMMM") and a MonthNumber column using MONTH([Date]). I've also sorted the MonthName column by MonthNumber, but the slicer still sorts alphabetically.

How can I fix this so the slicer sorts the months correctly in the visual?

Hi @Asmaa_Bedawi ,

Based on my testing, the month names are sorted correctly.

Creating a month name column.

Creating a month number column.

Select the MonthName column and choose sort by MonthNumber column.

The slicer can sort the month name correctly.

So, you should try to verify if the month name column are sorted correctly. And check to see if any other slicers are affecting month name sorting.

The approach you are mentioning should work.  Does it sort correctly in a table visual?
