how to do vlookup of to columns in different table

hi .

i have two two data sets i need to check if the value of the column of 1st data set is present in 2 nd data set?

 please help

LOOKUPVALUE( <result_columnName>, <search_columnName>, <search_value>[, <search_columnName>, <search_value>]…[, <alternateResult>])
