I have the next DAX code:
VAR CALC1 = CALCULATE( [Headcount R12Avg], 'Date'[IsPastDays] = 1)
VAR CALC2 = CALCULATE( [Resignations R12], 'Date'[IsPastDays] = 1)
RETURN
CALCULATE( DIVIDE( CALC2, CALC1), DATESYTD( 'Date'[Date], "31/05") )
But whenever I remove the 'datesytd.... ' I get the same value?
How is it possible that both CALCULATE( DIVIDE( CALC2, CALC1), DATESYTD( 'Date'[Date], "31/05") )
and DIVIDE( CALC2, CALC1)
Return the same value??

@Anonymous , Try like
VAR CALC1 = CALCULATE( [Headcount R12Avg], filter('Date', 'Date'[IsPastDays] = 1))
VAR CALC2 = CALCULATE( [Resignations R12], filter('Date', 'Date'[IsPastDays] = 1))
RETURN
CALCULATE( DIVIDE( CALC2, CALC1), DATESYTD( 'Date'[Date], "31/05") )
Also make sure, date table is marked as the date table
Filter/slicer/ visual use period from date table only
