YTD & Current Month DAX problem

Hi, I am trying to create a slicer that will show data for a current month and YTD for the finacial year starting in April,  the current month is defined from a table named Current Month that contians the dd,mmmm,yyyy I wish to use for the calculations. I have tried to amend the following DAX but can not get it to work.
Current Month/YTD =
var TODAYDATE=TODAY() var CurrrentMonth = CALCULATE(STARTOFMONTH('Current Month'[Month])=YEAR(TODAYDATE))
var YearStart= DATE(YEAR(TODAYDATE),4,1)
VAR result=
UNION(ADDCOLUMNS(CALENDAR(YearStart,CurrrentMonth),"Selection","YTD"), ADDCOLUMNS(CALENDAR(CurrrentMonth,CurrrentMonth),"selection","Current Month"))
return result
