Traversing related tables

Hi,

in my report I have a table with events data and a time dimension.

The events table relates to the date table with the field "Start date".

I would like to create a measure that returns one of the properties in the month table of the dimension, using the existing relations, that corresponds to the month of the first registered event.

e.g., if the first event happened at 12:00 of september 16th 2021, the measure should return 2021-09, which is the "short name" property of the month table.

Can someone help?

Thank you

Edit: I add below the schema of the tables, highlighting the involved fields for each relation using different colors.

Hi , @fpennisi

According to your description, you want to get the content of one-end table in multi-end table. And you want to convert "2021/9/16 12:00" to 2021-09.
First of all, for your needs, we must first clarify that only one section of the table can filter the multi-terminal table;
The first way is to directly place the fields of one end table, and then check whether it can meet your needs.

The second is that you can create this measure to try :

Measure = MAXX( ADDCOLUMNS('DownTimes' , "shortname" ,RELATED('Month'[Short name])) , [shortname])

Secondly, for date conversion, in fact, we can directly use conditional formatting to convert date display:

Measure 2 = FORMAT( MAX('Date'[Date]) , "yyyy-mm")

If this method does not meet your needs, you can provide us with your special sample data and the desired output sample data in the form of tables, so that we can better help you solve the problem. (You can also upload you sample .pbix [without sensitive data] to the OneDrive and share with the OneDrive link to me ! )

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!
