Transform/ Change Date value

Hi gurus,

I have my Power BI desktop connected to an ERP database. As part of the data feed, I have a Date column that has a default value of TODAY's date in mm/dd/yyyy format. 

I need to change/ transform the day (dd) component of this date to the first of the current month. For instance, today is the 7th of Oct and this field has default value of '10/07/2020'. I need to convert/change this to "10/01/2020" (1st of Oct 2020). The only way I can think of is possibly creating a NEW custom column, deriving the month (mm) and ear (yyyy) from this default date and hardcoding the day (dd) = "01" and concanenating them into 10/01/2020.  Is there a cleaner way to do this? Any thoughts/ suggestions would be appreciated. @Anonymous , In the new column you can create like

Date 1= eomonth([date],-1) +1

Or

Date 1=  date(Year([date]), Month([date]), 01)
