Total string column in table report

Hello,

I have more than 15 columns in my "table" reoprt with text values and I would like the "Total" row to show their sum. As this:

IDXYYZYTTTCount
1 XY YTTT3
2 XYYZYT 3
3  YTTT2
Total21328

Using option count just replaced the text with "1" but I would like the text to remain and have the total at the bottom. Can you somebody pls help?

Thanks

Hi @Merleau ,

At present only way I can think of is by creating measure for each column.

Measure for column TT =

IF( HASONEFILTER(TestTable3[TT]) , SELECTEDVALUE(TestTable3[TT]), SUMX(TestTable3, IF( ISBLANK(TestTable3[TT]) || TestTable3[TT] = "", 0 , 1)))

Was there ever a solution for this ?

you may try this

Measure = if(HASONEVALUE('table'[col]),max('table'[col]),count('table'[col]))

max of column with one value will return the col value itself and for totals, it will show count. Hope this helps.

This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376

Also, this Quick Measure, Measure Totals, The Final Word should get you what you need:

Also, this might help as well. https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Quick-Measures-Gallery/Matrix-Measure-Total-Triple-Threat-Rock-amp-...

Thank you Greg for the quick response.

I read the different links.

I will try to apply it but I am not sure how I can do that with my 20+ columns with text values that need a Total.

Thanks again

did you find the solution @Merleau
