Hello
I am needing guidance on creating a DAX expression to sum of days: do create a new measure, or create a new column to add to the data set?

Hi @eddins2020 ,
It depends on your use case. If you want to add the sum of days as a new column to the data set, you can use a calculated column. If you want to create a new measure, you can use a DAX expression. Measures are used to aggregate numeric data values, such as sums, averages, minimum or maximum values, counts, or more advanced calculations you create yourself using a DAX formula. If you want to create a measure, you can use the SUMX function to sum the values of a column that contains days.
Suppose you have a column named "Days", and you can use the following DAX expression to create a new measure that adds all the values in the "Days" column:
Total Days = SUM('Table'[Days])
This creates a measure named Total Days that adds all the values in the Days column. You can use this measure in Power BI Desktop to create reports or visualizations.
If you want to add the sum of days as a new column in the dataset, you can use the following formula:
=SUM([Days])
This creates a new column named "Total Days" that adds all the values in the "Days" column. You can use this new column to create reports or visualizations in Excel .
Hope this helps you.
