Dear PowerBi Community,
I created a Matrix comparing sales of three years and would like to sort it descending by last year's sales.
PowerBi however provides the option to sort by the total column of all three years combined.
Is there a workaround existing to sort by any other column than the total?
In Excel Pivot Tables one can easily sort by each possible column.
Best
Dennis
I think I found a workaround.
I have created three additional columns named 2020, 2021 and 2022.
In each column I inserted an IF function:
e.g. Sales 2020 = IF('Year'="2020",'Sales',0)
This is seems to be very bad practice however it works.
If you have any other ideas how to fix it more professional kindly let me know.
Best
Dennis
The difference to a standard report would be that the years are listed in the rows instead of being already separated by column.
Dear @Walter_W2022 thank you for your proposal!
I will share a link with the dummy .pbix as I am not in a position to add attachments:

If the link should not work kindly point out to me and I will try to insert a new one.
Hi @dennisbraun , could you please make up some data for your case? and create a draft by using PBI workbook, then upload to here for us to analyse? it will be much easier to analyse and find solution, thanks.
