Hi Team,
I am having some issues with cross column multiplication based on a date filter and a measure. I am requring a column that contains fixed values to be multiplied by a measure containing filtered data.
The measure is calculated by taking a max value and subtracting a min value. Prior to this calculation, both the Max and Min columns containing this data are being filtered by a date. Effectively, the measure gives a summed total for a given time period.
I have tried multiplying the fixed column values by the filtered measure, but the values are not working when a slicer is imbedded in the visualization. It simply just shows the mulitplication of the fixed values and doesn't change when the slicer is moved. Although, the measure containing the filtered values changes when the slicer is moved.
Unfortunately, the data is sensitive therefore I cannot display the queries from power Bi, but I have made an excel version that may be able to assist. Here is my best explanation of what I am looking for.
Currently, the Machine Hour reading table (Screenshot below in Red) is a Measure that is visible in the visualisations tab of Power Bi and contains an Hour reading corresponding to the Machine with a date acting as a filter. This allows me to sum a reading based on a filtered date and it corresponds to a Machine.
The ultimate outcome required is a mulitplication of the Fuel consumption rate column and the Machine Hour reading 'Measure' to create a Fuel used column filtered by a date. This is shown in the 'OUTCOME required' table as a formula. I have sucessfully mulitplied the column with the measure, but I can't seem to get the filter date included with the calculation. Any chance someone can please assist with this issue.
If more information is required I'll do my best to explain.
Thanks very much in advance.
