Hello!
I have a currency dimension and a currency fact table. The currency dimension contains 100 keys, tickers and names. The fact table has the average exchange rate for every day but doesn't contain exchange rates for all tickers in the dimension. CurrencyID is connected to FactCurrencyID.
I am using a slicer "CurrencyName from the dimension to convert values, but since not every name/ticker appears in the fact table, many are blank and I would like to have it so that my slicer only shows the currencies that appear the fact table.
One option is to manually select the currencies I want to appear through the filters panel, but this is static and I would like a dynamic measure that will change if/when new currencies are added to the fact table.
I believe the logic would be like "if Currency[CurrencyID] is found in FactCurrency[FactCurrencyID], then show Currency[CurrencyName], if not then ignore.
Is it possible to do something like this with dax?
Thanks!
@Anonymous Hi and I'm sorry for such a late response.
The data itself is sensitive so I can't sample it.
The images in my first post describe the relevant columns in each table. My currency fact table is joined to the date table.
I am using a slicer which has currency name from the currency dimension and I wondered if it was possible to apply a measure as a filter to the slicer, so it only shows currency names that appear in the fact table.
