Lookup value and circular dependency

HI all,

Here's an issue with the following.

I have one fact table that has a a one to many relationship to 3 dimension tables.

Obviously I have id to the fact table.

I can create a hierarchy with the 3 identifiers and it does in the way I want.

Then I try to create a hierarchy with the descriptor of the dimension but that does not fly.

WHen I try to get the descriptors of the dimensions into the fact table with a lookup dax to create a hiearchy based on those descriptors I can only create one column on the first dimension and then when I try to create a second  column from the second dimension I get the error of <A circular Dependency was detected...).

1) Instead of trying to create the descriptor, is it possible to replace somehow the id description by its dimension descriptor?

Hope this is clear.

Thanks

Francois

OK, I solved this by myself.

Instead of trying to use lookup, I used firstnonblank.

This does the trick and I built my hierarchy with it.
