How to build a line chart without aggregating in Y axis

Hi ,

I am trying to create a line chart . with date in x axis and values in Y axis . If i pull the values in to Y axis field column i couldnt have the chart without any agg function like (sum,min..)

As a work around i changed the date column in to text and tried . Its working now but since i have more than5L rows the chart is with scroll bar down as its very big . how i can fit to page by changing the intervals in X axis

Any help from both the methods will be helpful

Thanks

Hi @Ravishankar2612 -Fitting it to the page with an appropriate interval in the X-axis requires a few adjustments in Power BI.

on X-axis- change from continous to categories to show all the X-axis label and also minimum category width adjustment to max.

if you have many on your X-axis you can create hierarchy like Dates to drill down.

also changing the xaxis from continous to categories will give you less data points.

reducing font size also we can add more categories and try to reduce the scrollbar horizontally.

Try the above options and let know.

Hi Thanks for the reply , For some reason i couldn't find the Layout under X axis and Minimum category width.

No I need to show all the X-axis dates in one chart

also changing the xaxis from continous to categories will give you less data points.

If we change Xaxis date to continous , the Y axis will not be a raw data we need to select a agg function , I dont need this to happen

reducing font size also we can add more categories and try to reduce the scrollbar horizontally.

I have 30L rows , so was trying to figure out a way like we do in excel by selecting minimum and maximum date values with some intervals so that all the dates will be visible and also the Y axis will be a raw data without any agg function

Thanks
