Hi,
I have created a lot of Measures with different range of dax expressions applied to them. I currently use them all in a matrix visualization.
I want to create groups and assign groups to these measures. I want to have a column next to these measure names in matrix with their group names.I tried a lot of dax operations like switch() ,creating a new table with selectmeasure () dax, etc but none can create a group column for these measures in the Matrix. Is there a solution to that as I want a column with their group names so that I can also create a slicer with these groups and can have selections if required.
Please let me know if this is something that can be done.
Hello @Vatz8 ,
Have you tried to use field parameters?
Create field parameters table then add the grouping column you need.
Additionally, you will use the field parameter column refering the the measures and put it in values field within your matrix or visual.
Then put the grouping column in a slicer. Depending on the slicer value, your visual will show the different set of measures you have.
Please let me know if you need additional help implementing it.
If this solves your problem, please accept it as a solution. You kudo is also much appreciated.
Hi @Moetazzahran ,
The Parameter method works only if I just want to use Group names as a slicer. I want these Group names to appear besides the Measure Names as a column in the matrix itself and also as a slicer. The paramenter can solve the slicer part but does not allow me to create a group column in the Matrix.
Hello @Vatz8,
Please take a look at the screenshot. I have a column which is called Account Category
The column is being used to categorize every set of measures. I used the same column as a slicer and as a column to group the different set of measures within the matrix visual.
Is this how you did it? If not, does this way help?
Please let me know if you still need help.
If the solution works for you. Please accept it as a solutuion and your kudo is much appreciated.
Thank you
Hi @Moetazzahran ,
This is what I have done as well. For the example you gave, I want the Account Category not only as a slicer but also as a coulumn (Vertical) in the Matrix itself. By column I mean, vetically next to the measure names. Exactly how it is here
But this in matrix visualization.
