Getting Same Cumulative Total on each month

Greetings All- I have a cumulative measure that is putting the same total on every month in my snake chart. I have 12 months (Oct -Sep) and the cumulative total at the 12th month is the only value that shows on every month.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this so that it shows a rolling total for each month?

CALCULATE(
    SUM(SpendPlan[Obligations]),
    FILTER(ALLSELECTED(SpendPlan),SpendPlan[DATE]<= MAX(SpendPlan[DATE])))

Your DAX should work as long as you have SpendPlan[DATE]) and this measure is in your visual.

Fowmy----thanks for the guidance. My visual uses a seperate date table as the x-axis. This date table just has "months" and is linked to the months in my spend plan table. I have to use the date table becuase it is a combo chart using multiple sources. Any additional thoughts on how to solve?

I actually just got it to work by changing it to <=MIN. My new problem is that when I use a slicer to get a quarter, it re-starts the cumulative for whatever quarter (3 mos) I select rather than keeping the running total for that quarter. Does anyone know how to resolve?
