Filtering Issues for Individual Measures

Hello!
All errors started to occur after I updated my initial spreadsheets with an updated row, I was able to filter fiscal and calendar year.

My inital measure was:
Total Payroll Expense = SUMX( FILTER( 'Test Sheet', 'Test Sheet'[P&L Category] = "Payroll Expense" ), 'Test Sheet'[Actual Value] )

But an error message I recieved was,
"Calculation error in measures, the function sumx cannot work with the values of this type of string"

My modified measure is :

Total Payroll Expense =SUMX( FILTER('Test Sheet', 'Test Sheet'[P&L Category] = "Payroll Expense"), VALUE('Test Sheet'[Actual Value]))

This now produces values vs blanks I was recieving. Only issue is when I filter the values they do not populate, the all turn (Blank).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @powerbinovice01 ,

Based on the error message you received, it seems that the function is unable to work with the values of the string type SUMX. The function that you added to your modified measure converts the string values to numeric values, which is why you are now seeing values instead of blanks VALUE.

TOTAL_b =
CALCULATE (
    COUNT ( 'Table'[Quantite B] ),
    FILTER (
        'Table',
        'Table'[YEAR_MONTH] = EARLIER ( 'Table'[YEAR_MONTH] )
            && 'Table'[Article] = EARLIER ( 'Table'[Article] )
            && 'Table'[Quantite B] <> 0
    )
)

This should allow you to filter the values correctly.
