Filling a Power BI Table

Hi All,

I have a problem I have been trying to solve for a little bit now. A solution I have now is I have a data set uploaded to to Power BI online, I import the data set to Excel, I run 5 pivot tables with filters for each of the financial values I need. Then I use the get pivot data funtion to fill a table in Excel. I am curious if there is a way I can streamline this and create a powerBI table which calculates each value I need so that I dont have to use Excel and can just have a report with one table. I hope I made this clear. I can work on creating an example if needed.

Thanks in advanced.

@ConnorH , I am not sure need of pivot table. If you are data in raw format, then you can configure in power Bi and use the Matrix table to create the pivot you need.

Power BI has power Query which provides a strong data model layer and then you can do a lot many operations in DAX too.

So what can be done or not will depend on your data, data model, and need?

@ConnorH Sample data and screen shots would assist. But, maybe create some matrix visualizations in Power BI (equivalent of pivot tables). Then you can click the ellipses on those matrix visualizations and choose "Analyze in Excel" or Export to get what I think is the table you want.

@ConnorH

Not clear to me, lets see if somebody has any solution here. Or please share more details.

"I import the data set to Excel"

Don't do that. Instead, use "Analyze in Excel", build your pivot tables as needed - one time - and then just hit refresh whenever you want updated data.
