Displaying Passive information in Matrix Tables

Good Morning,

I am trying to resolve some of our dependance on Excel based reporting with Power Bi and Power Query. The first step is to try and replicate the reports "as is" to show that this is a viable process improvement. Then we can look at streamlining the data and reports to show a better quality of information.

We have 5 levels of Work breakdown structure that are the sum levels for the data. All the data is attached to level 5 orders. As below:

I want to be able to add the names of each of these elements to the table as a data field, this is build using a hierarchy of the levels that links the level five data all the way to the top level.

Each level has it's own names. If I add the names with all included then only the top level shows as its using the 'First' property If I add the bottom level names then I get a better result. I have a hierarchy of the names in a similar fashion to the codes above but cant get them to show in the matrix.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

For now, you e.g. concanetate the name and code of a certain level then create a new hierarchy based on these fields. If the data is stuctured i a good format there isn't even a need to create this hierarchy and merely placing the levels in order to the visual should provide desired output. All in all it is a bit hard to follow since there isn't visibility into data in your example.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Is that you want to display as the following screenshot?

If yes, go visual format -> row headers -> stepped layout -> turn off
