Not sure if its a DAX question, but let me try.
If I had to divide 100 over 10 years, how can I show it as a linear chart?
i.e. Y0 = 100, Y1 = 90, Y3 = 80 ... Y9 = 0
This is simplified version of question where I will create user inputs on screen using slicer, text boxes to input initial value, number years, etc.
As user changes the values the chart is updated based based on the equation. There can be mutiple lines on the same chart for different equation.
Another variation of question is there are two equations
1. y = 10x + 3
2. y = 5x^2 + 3x -1
If user selects 10 (years) then x is subsituted 0...10 to show 2 lines on same chart.
How does one do this in power bi?
Use "What if?" parameters and measures. Note that the values for "What-If?"parameters have fixed granularity, you can only have up to 1000 quants (quanta?) per parameter.
