Dax for calculating count of months from selected month to start of the year month+previous month

Hi All,

I want to have a count of months from current month upto start of the year month +1 month.

ie ex : suppose current selected month is August 2019. Then I want to have value such that it will give me count of months from August 2019 to Jan 2019 plus Dec 2018 = 9

I tried one dax :

Count of months = calculate(countrows(values('Date'[Month])),DATESINPERIOD('Date'[Date],PREVIOUSMONTH('Date'[Date]),1,month))

But it is not giving me exact value which I am expecting.

Any help is appreciated.

Try the below.

Measure = 
VAR _start = STARTOFYEAR( 'Calendar'[Date] ) -1
VAR _end = ENDOFMONTH( 'Calendar'[Date] )
RETURN 
DATEDIFF( _start, _end, MONTH ) + 1
