Hi, I have the following DAX code to pull a very specific group of clients from my database. I’m having a issue where it’s pulling duplicate clients now. For example if they match all three parameters they will show up as duplicates scewing my client counts. I’m curious if I’m missing a simple solution to this with the UI or if I can use DISTINCTCOUNT to only allow 1 client to show even if they match multiple parameters in the DAX. It's also strange that this used to work but now duplicates.
The Dax code causing duplication
Client Count (Filtered) = CALCULATE([Client Count],'Case'[ProgramCode] IN {"DRPIN"},'Case Survey'[SurveyCode]="HIHV",'Case Survey'[QuestionCode] IN {"HTS"},'Case Survey'[AlphaAnswer]="YES") + CALCULATE([Client Count],'Case'[ProgramCode] IN {"NPATH", "HIH"})
Using DISTINCTCOUNT
Client Count (Filtered) = CALCULATE(DISTINCTCOUNT([Client Count],'Case'[ProgramCode] IN {"DRPIN"},'Case Survey'[SurveyCode]="HIHV",'Case Survey'[QuestionCode] IN {"HTS"},'Case Survey'[AlphaAnswer]="YES")) + CALCULATE([Client Count],'Case'[ProgramCode] IN {"NPATH", "HIH"})
@Spliterforest Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882
Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490
The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
