Can DAX functions be written on Power Query

It depends. Most of the Calculated Columns DAX code can also be implemented in Power Query. DAX code for measures cannot be ported to Power Query.   Some functions like accumulations with changing inputs can only be implemented in Power Query, not in DAX.

 

You can also use DAX to acess SSAS Tabular sources in import mode.
