DAX Overdue column

I'm new to DAX and was wondering if I could get some help.

I want to create a new column that would show if a task is overdue.

First I need to check the 'Current Status' column and see if it contains 'Not started' or 'In progress' to see if the task is still open (closed & completed are the other options in the column).  Then I need to check the 'Due Date' column and compare with today's date to see if it's overdue.

What is the easiest way to write this in DAX?

status = IF([CurrentStatus]="Not started" || [CurrentStatus]="In progress","Open","Close")

duedate = IF([DueDate]<TODAY(),"Overdue","Not overdue")

Hi @L_Oram
Better if you present a sample dummy data.
