Hi Team,
I want to know if we can use "SEARCH" funtion like SQL "A%" in DAX expression in Manage roles. If yes, can anyone please assist me in this use case:
There is one filter with "Full Names" on dashboard and based on any one selection from filter, their relevant data is appearing on the next visual on the same dashboard for assessment purposes. We want to assign full names starting from A to F be assigned to 1 role and G to P to another role and Q to Z to another role. Please help in getting this dax expression in manage role.
Thanks
Happy

Hi,
I am not sure how your datamodel looks like, but I tried to create a sample pbix file like below.
Please check the Manage roles and View as in the attached pbix file.

Hi Jihwan,
Thank you so much!
The Solution worked. Can I please confirm one more thing in this syntax, if this LEFT function will filter only uppercase A, B, C or it can filter both uppercase or lowercase i.e it is case insensitive.
Hi,
Thank you for your message.
It is not case sensitive.
If your datamodel needs to be case sensitive, I suggest having an index column or grouping column in Power Query Editor, and then use DAX formula in Manage roles.
I hope it helps.
Thank you.
