Looking for help creating a display using DAX. I have a semantic model which pushes data (totals and components in one table) to Power BI (can't create relationships in Power BI). What I would like to do is to create two tables based on the data: One table will show totals, the other table will display nothing until an item is clicked in the first table, and then shows the components. Here's an example:
Original Data:
Grouping | Item | Owner | Count |
Hardware | Mouse | 9 | |
Hardware | Mouse | A | 2 |
Hardware | Mouse | B | 3
|
Hardware | Mouse | C | 4 |
Hardware | Keyboard | 8 | |
Hardware | Keyboard | A | 1 |
Hardware | Keyboard | C | 2 |
Hardware | Keyboard | E | 5 |
Software | Windows | 2 | |
Software | Windows | B | 1 |
Software | Windows | D | 1 |
Software | Power BI | 2 | |
Software | Power BI | A | 1 |
Software | Power BI | B | 1 |
Table of totals:
Grouping | Item | Count |
Hardware | Mouse | 9 |
Hardware | Keyboard | 8 |
Software | Windows | 2 |
Software | Power BI | 2 |
When for example the first row is clicked in the table, the second table displays:
Owner | Count |
A | 2 |
B | 3 |
C | 4 |

hello @Anonymous
please check if this accomodate your need.
1. create a new measure for calculating 'Counting' value
CountValue = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Count]),'Table'[Owner]<>BLANK())
3. create another table visual for second table. use visual filter to remove empty value in 'Owner' column.
Hope this will help.
Thank you.
