Create a temp. column using VAR.

Hey everyone, 


I want to create a measure where i want to create an extra column that says if(Column A <> blank() , 1 , 0), after that i want a rate of how many 1's there are. 
Something like this: 



I know that i can just create an calculatedcolumn in the table, but I dont want a messy table with a lot columns, therefore i would prefer to do this in the measure.

    I think you were pretty close. With a SUMX instead of a SUM it should work:

    CompanyAnswerRate =
    VAR _ANSWER =
        SUMMARIZE (
            'TrustPilot - Review',
            'TrustPilot - Review'[comanyReplyText],
            "AnswerYesNo", IF ( 'TrustPilot - Review'[companyReplyText] <> BLANK (), 1, 0 )
        )
    VAR AnswerRate =
        DIVIDE (
            SUMX ( _ANSWER, [AnswerYesNo] ),
            COUNTROWS ( _ANSWER )
        )
    RETURN
        AnswerRate
    

     

    By the way it's not recommended, to do calculations within SUMMARIZE as there could be wrong results. The new standard is to use ADDCOLUMNS to calculate in combination with SUMMARIZE. See the following article for more details:
