Connecting/Filtering Another Field by Text Value

Hi,

I know there's filtering capabilities, which I've used, but am having trouble trying to get a composite filter value for another page. Here's what I'm trying to do:

1) A user selects a Composite Filter value from Page 1.

2) On Page 2, there are iterations of the filter value I want included.

3) When a user clicks on a value in Page 2, it comes up with a definition of what was selected.

Here's an example if I were using automobiles:

User selects "Volkswagen" under a Slicer/Composite filter on Page 1.

On Page 2, there is another filter option for the user. I want to display say:

Volkswagen - Jetta

Volkswagen - Beatle

...

...so, multiple options from VW on Page 2.

When the user selects say "Volkswagen - Jetta" a summary description appears of what it is all about.

Right now, I have a custom table that takes care of what they select on Page 2. But, I need to address having them select a High-Level term like "Volkswagen" or "Ford" then have multiple filtered options for only that maker on the next Page/Report.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

According to your description, I made a sample and here is my solution.

Sample data:

vxiaosunmsft_0-1668649844820.png

I put "main" into a slicer in page 1 and put "sub" into a slicer in page 2.

In Power BI Desktop, on the View shelf, select Sync slicers. Click the slicer on page 1, and then in the Sync slicer pane, in the Sync column, select the page which you want to sync the slicer on. In the Visible column, you can choose whether the current slicer is visible on page 2.

Then you can do as what you need as belows.

I attach my sample below for your reference.
