Completed YTD Total query

Hi I want to add a filter note that will only sum the total for the completed months. My existing DAX code is:

Current Year Transactions = CALCULATE (
SUM (VW_Transactions[transaciton_id] ),
FILTER (
'Date',
'Date'[MonthNameShort] = 'PBP Forecast'[Month Only] && 'Date'[Year] = year(today()))
)

Please could you advise?

@Anonymous , You can use date table and time intelligence

Current Year Transactions = CALCULATE (
SUM (VW_Transactions[transaciton_id] ), datesytd('Date'[Date]))
