Hi @Poojajunnu

Start with these, then practice a little every day:

Books (start with one)

Free learning (Microsoft Learn)

YouTube

What to actually focus on

  • Row context vs filter context

  • CALCULATE() + context transition

  • Iterators (SUMX, AVERAGEX, …)

Tip: Don’t try to memorize every function. Get comfortable with context, then read the function docs as needed and apply.

Hi @Poojajunnu,

Thank you @rohit1991 @FBergamaschi, for your insights.

You can also refer to the below official Microsoft resources to learn DAX:

DAX Documentation & Training: Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) Reference - DAX | Microsoft Learn

Dashboard in a Day (DIAD): Dashboard in a Day Power BI Training | Microsoft Power BI

Hope this helps

Thank you.

Hi @Poojajunnu,

step 1 is books or video courses (electronic version is preferred)

books

- Supercharge Power BI (introduction to DAX)

- The Definitive Guide to DAX (high-level DAX)

video courses

- SQLBI.com (Introdction to DAX - free course - and then Mastering DAX)

step 2 apply it every day to your job via Power BI or Power Pivot

Avoid quick courses on the web, stay n trusted and renowed professional, understand what you are doing in DXA even for very simple initial steps

If this helped, please consider giving kudos and mark as a solution
