Our company record sales from multiple channels on multiple platforms. What is the best way to model the data into the one file?

Hi @Anonymous ,

If you have multiple files that have the same schema, combine them into a single logical table.  It is a powerful approach to importing data into Power BI Desktop.

  • Put files in the same folder, select Get data, choose File > Folder, and then select Connect.

If there are different sources with different column names, Pleaserefer to the following topic to see if it helps you.

  •  handle dynamic appending of tables.

Hi, they are all downloadable csv files. A couple of different shopify accounts and an amazon source.

Would you recommend dropping these into one excel file?

Hi:

Can you access the source, like sql server? If they are csv's or excels, you can group the same structured ones in folders and drop in the latest week ,each week and Power BI can load those routinely.

Not knowing your situation that well, there are probably acouple-few ways to get it going but best if they all come from the same source.

It's worth spending some time on becasue how you set up your model is a big deal.
