To connect to Snowflake in Power BI Desktop, you can follow these steps:

On the Home ribbon of Power BI Desktop, select Get Data.

Select "Databases" from the categories on the left, and then select "Snowflake".

In the Snowflake pop-up window, enter the name of your Snowflake server into the "Server" field, and the name of your Snowflake compute repository into the "Warehouse" field.

Select OK.

To log in to your Snowflake compute repository, enter your username and password and select Connect.

If you want to use Microsoft Entra ID for single sign-on (SSO), you need to configure Microsoft Entra ID integration on the Snowflake side.

When you use direct query mode with Snowflake, Power BI sends queries to Snowflake in real time as you interact with reports.

This means that your visualizations are always in sync with the latest data available in Snowflake.
