Attempting to do an active client count. An active client is a client that has an end date greater than the current date and a start date prior to the current date. Our current active client count as of 12/1 is 4,362 clients. This number differs slightly on a month to month basis (clients added vs. clients dropped). I've been tasked with finding what the active client count is from month to month, going back 5 years. I am confused as to how to put this together in Power BI to show graphically and what formulas I need to use. Ideally on one graph, I would like to have one line showing the # of clients added each month, and another line showing for the month what the new total active employee count is/was. Example:
October '17: 67 Clients Added, 15 Clients Dropped, Total Employee Count = 4,362
September '17: 38 Clients Added, 10 Clients Dropped, Total Employee Count = 4,353
etc.
etc.
How can one achieve this in Power BI? Can provide more info/background if needed.
