I have a table like this, that has been unpivoted in power query. The 3 of the 4 custom columns to identify the main column work perfectly, but not a certain one despite having the same code.
Attribute | Value | IF containsstringexact Fruit | If containsstringexact Veg |
Fruit - Apple | 5 | 1 | 0 |
Veg - Carrot | 3 | 0 | 1 |
So column "fruit" and "veg" are both used to identify the category of Attribute IF(CONTAINSSTRINGEXACT(TABLE[Attribute],"fruit"),1,0)
When i then make a visual with Veg as a filter, the table shows the same value for each Veg. Yet when I make the same visual using Fruit as a filter the visual properly calculate the sum/avg of each fruit.
Can someone please explain why it works for one custom column but not another?
Even if I combine all the if conditional identifies into a single column, the visual is adjust correctly for every field except for that veg field.
Please provide a more detailed explanation of what you are aiming to achieve. What have you tried and where are you stuck?
To give you better information, what are you looking for? I feel my problem is described perfectly. I made a column to use as a filter and it is not working, yet works for other similar columns.
