Hello Community!
I am having a problem with subtotals in PowerBI for the matrix visual. I DID NOT use any measures but instead just dragged the fields into the rows, columns and values section of the visual itself, using count of Student IDs as the value itself. While the grand total is correct, the subtotals for each given school (Hierarchy) are not adding up to that grand total which is correct. The image is shown below.
Any tips or ideas why this would be?
@dc52 Did you use Count or Distinct Count? When you aggregate on a column, you are in fact using an implicit measure so it's essentially the same as if you had used a measure.

This looks like a measure totals problem. Very common. See my post about it here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/DAX-Commands-and-Tips/Dealing-with-Measure-Totals/td-p/63376
