Hello.
Im looking to using Planner to show sequencing of staff accross a project. Trouble is, I have multiple projects operating in tandum. I am hoping to have a way to show all of the Planner projects in one location, where i can then filter by a shared label (designer, estimator etc) or by asignee to the task.
Planner portfolio only shows filter by owner, which does not allow me to condense the tasks by asignee.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
@MrMarkR Hi! You can show all Microsoft Planner tasks from multiple projects in one Power BI dashboard, with filters for assignee and role (e.g., Designer, Estimator).
Collect Planner Data
Use Power Automate to extract tasks from all plans and store them in SharePoint or Excel.
Include fields like task title, plan name, assignee, due date, and labels.
Build in Power BI
Connect Power BI to the SharePoint/Excel file.
Model the data with relationships (Tasks ↔ Assignees ↔ Roles).
Use slicers to filter by assignee, plan, or role.
Map Labels to Roles
Manually map Planner labels (Label1, Label2...) to roles like “Designer” or “Estimator”.
Visualize Sequencing
Use a Gantt chart visual (e.g., "Gantt by MAQ Software") in Power BI to show task timelines.
Let me know if you need support to do one of these steps!
