I am trying to create a scatter chart like below with date on the x-axis and value on the y-axis and thousands of data points. If I place the date on the x-axis and value on the y-axis I get all the dates with the data points summarised and scrolling required to see all the data. I have managed to work around this by adding the specimen id (a unique identifier for the data points) to legend and changing the date to whole number allowing me to see all the data points without scrolling. But I am left with no dates, multitude of colours and am not able to use the legend for other things. I have seen 'details' field mentioned in several places and it sounds like it could be the solution to this but I cannot find it (which other users seem to have had problems with). Is there a way to create graphs like below?
