Hi,
I want to create a visual that shows the variance between the previous year's data and the current year's data in a line chart, similar to the attached image.
In the visual, the black line represents the current year's data points for each month. The areas filled with green or red color represent the variance between the current year's data and the previous year's data. Green areas indicate months where the current year's data is higher than the previous year's data, while red areas indicate months where the current year's data is lower.
How can I represent this in a stock visual in Power BI? I think we can do this using error bands or error bars, but I am not sure how to implement it. Currently, I am using a custom visual from Zebra BI, which I want to replace.
Thank you.
Visual example:
The visual is a timeline comparison of all KPIs, showing the variance between the current year's data and the previous year's data. Here’s a detailed explanation:

Overall, this visual effectively shows both the current year's performance and how it compares to the previous year, highlighting significant increases or decreases with the colored areas.
Have you tested that visual on your business users? Feels like it is not getting the point across. A simple line chart with a line for each year and the X axis showing the day of the year seems to be much more suited for the discussion.
Hi This is a requirement from Business user, we are already using Zebra BI Charts, and are now trying to replace them so save on costs
