Since a couple of days, the Timeline Slicer visual always shows the Year, Quarter, Month, etc. on PowerBI.com, even if it's been set up not to do so. On PowerBI desktop everything looks great (just the slicer with the different dates), but on PowerBI.com it's shows up completely different.

and you have to scroll down to see the actual slicer, since we obviously sized the visual for only displaying the slicer.
Even dashboards that haven't refreshed as recently as the one in the screenshots above have been impacted by this change. I have removed the Timeline slicer visual from the dashboard in PBI desktop re-added it after reopening PBI desktop, but the result was exactly the same.

Hi @WOLF81 and the other responders to this thread,
I checked PowerBI.com and they definitely are back to their regular functionality. 😊

Exact same issue here. Looking forward to a solution

I'm having a similar issue. Appears on cloud the timeline slicer is version 2.5.8, but the desktop uses 2.4.0 and things such as the label granularity switches cause issues. Even when I download version 2.5.8 from Appsource, and import in as a visual, it goes back to 2.4.0. I suspect this is the cause of a lot of issues (as 2.5.8 has more features, such as turning the cursors on and off etc too)

I'm having the same issues. Desktop shows 2.4 but web shows 2.5.8. It used to hold the max date on the filter but now the Force selection/latest available period setting is not holding causing it to not stay filtered to the lastest date.

Have you had any luck finding a solution?

There seems to be an issue with the Timeline slicer as of today. The Year / Quarter / Month / Week / Day selector is missing so users cannot switch between them.

The issue only seems to be once published up into app.powerbi.com. The Slicer works fine in PowerBI Desktop.

Actually I've just found out that the Year / Quarter / Month / Week / Day selector is there, however you now need to scroll completely to the left to see it. It used to be pinned so it was always visible.

As of last week, there appears to be a bug with the timeline slicer in the PBI service.
If the visual is less wide than the entire page- long enough to scroll in horizontally - it treats selection as if your cursor is further away to the left (proportionate to how small the visual is) than it actually is.

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated.

The workaround does work, but does anyone know a more permanent solution for this?

The visual is very nice to use if not for this super inconvenient bug.

Same issue here, it appears to always go back to the minimum date if the minimum date isn't on the page.

The only temporary workaround I have found is to put the visual into focus mode and zoom out so the minimum date is available.

This needs fixing asap.

Today id looks like if they solved during the weekend. All Microsoft adds works well like before the latest update.
