Passing query string to custom visual nodejs server

I need to pass a query parameter to the nodejs server url when building a custom visual of the type ?attribute=false so that my custom visual calls localhost:8080?attribute=false.

 

How can I do that? I can't seem to find a way. Do I need to pass it to the webpack-dev-server?
