Create Conditional Formatting Group

Hi,

I'm trying to create a Conditional Formatting Group in the Customization tab like in the table visual:
Screenshot 2024-10-13 at 15.47.58.png

I thought I may be able to use the ConditionalFormattingControl as the Formatting Component but couldn't find anywhere how to insert it to the pane. Can someone provide an example on how to create something similar? Is it even possible?

I want to create a status field that can be formatted as we do in the table visual, so I will want to know how to apply those to my Visual.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Saud, Thanks for your reply.

I published this post in the Custom Visualizations Development Forum because I want to create this myself as I'm using a Custom Visual and not a table.
Is this feasible in custom development?

I am not sure about it... may be whoever has built custom visuals should be able to help you out.. But I believe logic should be as I mentioned in my reply,.

Use Power BI’s Built-in Conditional Formatting:
If you are working with a table or matrix visual, Power BI already provides built-in conditional formatting options that you can use without custom coding.
Steps to Apply Conditional Formatting:
Select Your Visual: Click on the table or matrix visual you want to format.
Open the Formatting Pane: Click on the paint roller icon in the Visualizations pane.
Conditional Formatting: Look for the “Conditional formatting” section. Here, you can apply formatting based on rules or values.
Apply Formatting to a Status Field:
Choose the Field: Select the field you want to format (e.g., Status).
Add Conditional Formatting: Click on the “fx” button next to the field to open the conditional formatting options.
Set Rules: Define the rules for formatting. For example, you can set different colors for different status values (e.g., red for “High”, yellow for “Medium”, green for “Low”).
Example:
Field Value: Choose the field you want to format.
Format by: Select “Rules”.
Rules: Add rules based on your criteria. For example:
If Status is “High”, set background color to red.
If Status is “Medium”, set background color to yellow.
If Status is “Low”, set background color to green.
