10 years of technological evolution.
It's nothing on the scale of humanity, but on the scale of computing, it's not bad!
From landline phones to high-speed fiber optics...
But also a few nods to the evolution of Power BI throughout the pages.
5 pages...
1- Summary
Obviously, a summary to explain each page, without forgetting a reminder of the sources used for the report.
A little light animation on the buttons to liven up this page. 😊
2- 🎞️ Chronological History
A reminder of the major historical moments for landline phones, mobile phones, and the Internet.
Because Power BI has evolved so much in 10 years, I deliberately used a "History" visual from Power BI.
Now deprecated, but still accessible with a little research, it was, in its own way, an important point for Dataviz in Power BI.
3- 📶 Subscription
Are there disparities on our planet between major regions of the world, or between countries in the same major region? The answer is yes 😊
The idea is to highlight the number of subscriptions or users (for internet) in correlation with the evolution of this data over several years.
The size of the bubble, the population of each country.
A representation using small characters to illustrate major regions of the world to facilitate filters and make them more "friendly."
Another nod here to the evolution of the tool, a custom viz... so well-known!
Behind the button, because it's important to be able to drill down to a level of detail, are the traditional matrix and curve... 😊 that have made the tool so successful.
4- 🌍Globe Exploration
What's better than citing sources, especially when they're beautifully presented?
A golden opportunity to use another technology in Power BI... HTML iframes... driven by DAX.
5- 🥬Correlation of greenhouse gas emissions
To conclude, it's also important to put into perspective that behind technological innovations, there are sometimes also ecological issues...
A little nod here to Power BI and its evolution?
The use of SVGs, which allow Power BI to explode traditional DataViz.
The goal of this page?
To verify that we can draw great insights from data. But it still needs to be verified.
Nothing beats statistics with the "Spearman Rank Correlation"...
Not to mention the brilliant Tooltips. They aren't designed to provide key elements, but to help, affirm, or explain.
💡 by hovering over this icon on each of the pages…. Surprise.

Great usage of Spearman coefficient !
Congratulations Guillaume Gaudfroy !
This presentation is beautifully designed and efficient, as always.
What a report ! Never seen one like this, in particular the 3D globe and the animated tooltips. Clean and beautiful design.
Well done !
A visually compelling and well-structured report. The user story is clear and impactful—an excellent showcase for the 10-year Power BI milestone @ggaudfroy
A truly outstanding report—congratulations! I loved the clever blend of vintage typography with the modern touch of Power BI.
Special mention for the amazing tooltips when hovering over the lightbulb—really impressive.
The time-lapse animation is simply mesmerizing.
A top-tier report, my full respect!
Patrick J
Impressive ! Might look short but technicaly efficient to dig in the story ! Congrats
Congratulations Guillaume. Very interesting.
Very interesting
Very interesting
Thanks for the sharing @ggaudfroy. You spoiled the team Power BI for its 10th anniversary 🥳
Interresting 🙂 Thank you
Great report it's nice to see how PBI has evolved throught the years
Very good job as usual
Congratulations Guillaume! Realy Nice report!
Great report with past and modern Power BI viz ! Boards are really clear and easy to use, good job !
oh... I really like the Globe Observation page ! this is a nice world map visual (btw: which one is it ?), and combined with the time-lapse, it really shows dynamically the evolution. Also fan of the tooltips you embedded.
I'm a bit lost on the timeline history.. there are so many options ! 😅 and if I'm correct, the tooltip on this page just explains the bottom panel (scenes?), but not all the different option on the left and top panels. Well, I need to spend more time to get the most of it I guess !
But really nice job overall ! Would love to get the pbix of your submission ! 😇 (especially the Globe Observation page)
So cool!
Great use of SVGs 🔥
I definitely need to learn how to do that haha.
Congrats!
