Support markdown files in workspaces or notebook resources
Currently there is no way to supply documentation to go with projects and resources in the workspace. It would be great if workspaces can support the ability to host markdown files (i.e. readme.md) (or plan text even) so folder or project can have documentation capabilities.
This would also be useful in Environment and Notebook resources. Today you can add a markdown file to the resources but there is no easy way for users to view the content of it. You can't drag and drop to the Notebook and you can't click to open and view the file. Having this ability would allow data science or data engineering notebooks or environments to be documented. For notebooks, you can use markdown cells of course but if you wanted to document the resources included with the notebook there is no easy way to view the readme.

Yes this would really be useful. After a while workspaces accumulate, and within every workspace many files. Opening an old workspace you have no clue what everything is meant to do.
A quick workaround is creating a notebook called 'readme' but support for proper markdown would be ideal.

Helper II
Add support for rendering markdown files that are in the version control would be awesome. Markdown files are becoming more and more important when we are working with agents and not having any preview support for them is terrible. - GerhardFallerNew MemberGreat idea! I would envision a new object type called Markdown. You can create them git diff and view them directly in Fabric. Even better would be a feature like the WIKI in Azure DevOps.
