I have a potential client for streaming data and real time dashboards. I'm setting up a mock up, pushing data every few seconds. Everything is connected, but the Real Time Dashboard is 15 MINUTES behind, and losing ground. I understand that Microsoft took away the ability to set a dashboard to refresh automatically and refresh is now controlled by MS/Fabric.
Please bring back the ability to have a real time dashboard configure for automatic refreshes. If you are worried about capacity or for whatever reason it was disabled, start broad, like every minute instead of every few seconds.
Honestly, what good is 'real time' data of I cannot actually see it in real time?

The RT Dashboard is currently not real-time. At most, we can discuss about micro-batching.
The awesome live refresh works at most every 10 seconds. This is not the maximum freshness expected from a real-time visualization.
I understand that refreshing dashboard widgets every second or less will come with a CPU usage penalty. But if the value is in real-time updates, make it possible to choose this.

Status changed:NewtoCompletedWe are optimizing the way Real-Time Dashboards work, and recently introduced the new Live refresh mechanism.
Live refresh updates dashboard visuals when new data is ingested into the underlying source. For visuals that don't support ingestion detection, or are based on unsupported data sources, the dashboard uses a fallback refresh interval that the dashboard editor defines. Ingestion detection is more efficient than fixed-time intervals, as it queries the data only when the data changes.
Live Refresh in Real-Time Dashboard - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn - ToddChitt

I see from the Fabric March 2026 Feature Summary an item labeled "Live update for Real-Time Dashboards" (https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/fabric-march-2026-feature-summary?ft=All#post-34196-_Toc224559652) I don't think that was available when I authored the original post. Testing it out, it seems to work well. If you are reading this and looking for the feature, open the Real Time Dashboard, switch to Editing mode (upper right corner) and that should bring up the Refresh Rate option.
