Suddenly uncommitted GIT status
Hi all,
Somewhere between last week and this week, we noticed that many of our Power BI items (reports and semantic models) are suddenly showing an uncommitted Git status. This issue doesn’t affect all report/semantic model-items, but it seems to impact roughly 80–90% of them.
To understand the nature of these changes, we committed some of them — and it appears that these changes might be related to TMDL (Tabular Model Definition Language) being enabled. Up to this point, we haven’t enabled or used TMDL in any of our reports.
We’re wondering:
Are others experiencing this same issue?
Does anyone know what triggered this? Could it be related to the April update?
And why would only some of the reports be affected and not all?
Lastly, is it safe to discard the changes, or would it be better to adjust our branch policy and commit them (even though TMDL is still in preview)?

Thanks again for bringing this up! From the April Fabric update, where TMDL (Tabular Model Definition Language) was enabled by default. Even if you haven’t used TMDL before, it triggered some internal metadata changes, causing many reports and semantic models to show as "Uncommitted" in Git. This may happening to others too, and only items that needed internal updates are affected. It is safe to either commit or discard these changes, committing is recommended to keep your Git branch clean. If you have a lot of items, you may safely use "Update All" to refresh everything without any risk of data loss.
