Subscriptions not being sent
Hi,
I'm from Peru, Is anyone else experiencing issues with subscriptions?
Until two days ago, I was using the free trial of Power BI Premium (I have Power BI PRO because of Microsoft 365) and the subscriptions were working fine, but yesterday, no subscriptions were sent as scheduled nor any went out when triggered manually. I changed the subscription so that I’m the only subscriber and is also not sending the subscription.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi EGPSI
There sometimes has been issues with subscriptions not being sent. Can you also confirm that? Email client is not maybe blocking these emails from coming through as well as to ensure that you are sending it through to the same email address as you registered for your Power BI account. The reason for me mentioning this is if you send it to a different email address other than your Power BI account you will need to use a Fabric Capacity.

Hi, GilbertQ
I allowed my email address to receive the Power BI subscription emails. I configured the subscription to send the emails to my email address only; no other email addresses were added. This was not a problem before ending the Power BI premium trial; and it shouldn't be, because I have Power BI Pro licence from Microsoft 365.

Hi EGPSI
Thanks for confirming. Since you are the only recipient and have an active Power BI Pro license, the end of the Fabric/Premium trial by itself shouldn't prevent you from creating or receiving a subscription. Microsoft confirms that Pro users can subscribe to reports and dashboards.
I would suggest checking the following:
- Verify your Power BI license is still showing as Pro under your account settings.
- Check whether the subscription is still enabled under Settings > Power BI subscriptions.
- Confirm that the email address associated with your Power BI/Entra account can receive mail. Microsoft notes that having a Pro license doesn't necessarily mean the account has an Exchange mailbox configured.
- Check your junk/spam/quarantine folders and any mail-flow rules that may be blocking Power BI subscription emails.
- Ask your Fabric/Power BI administrator to confirm that subscriptions are enabled at the tenant level.
- If possible, create a new subscription on another report in the same workspace and test it. This can help determine whether the issue is specific to the report or affects subscriptions generally.
Since both scheduled and manually triggered subscriptions stopped working at approximately the same time, if the above checks are OK, it may be worth checking the Microsoft Fabric/Power BI known issues page for an ongoing service issue.
If you can confirm whether the subscription shows Succeeded, Failed, or no delivery status in the subscription details, that would help narrow down whether this is a Power BI subscription-processing issue or an email-delivery issue.
Thanks,
C Srikanth
